EFL LEAGUE ONE WINNERS FROM 1920

The EFL League One is an annual football competition which is held in England by 24 clubs. The league was established in 1959 as the Third Division which followed on from the regional third tier that had been established in the South in 1920 and the North in 1921. In 1992, with the departure of the First Division clubs to become the Premier League, the third tier was named as the Second Division. Since 2004, it has been known as Football League One till 2016 where the name was changed to EFL League One. Plymouth Argyle is the most successful club with a record of five titles and they are the current champions of the league.
